Lenawee County
« on: Jan 07, 2011, 09:52 PM »
Hello fellow ice fishermen,
A friend and I are planning a trip to devils Lake in Lenawee County. What research i have done so far has yielded a lake map drawn in 1948, and the states stocking data.  I would like any info, you gentlemen would be willing to offer.
Other than the walleye and redear sunfish the stocking data represents, what other species can been found in devils or round?
How accurate is the lake map from 48?
Any particular area of the lake we should look at?
Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You
It's the hunt, not the harvest that matter's most!!

Guys,

been having a hard time locating a map or info as far as access points to the lake.
Look at google earth, i was able to identify one ( I assume) public boat launch. Appears to be in the southwest corner of the lake.

Thanks

Is this the lake map that you have located?

http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/SPATIALDATALIBRARY/PDF_MAPS/INLAND_LAKE_MAPS/LENAWEE/DEVILS_LAKE.PDF

If so, spend a few bucks and buy a Sportsman's Connection book for Southeast Michigan.  Hundreds of lakes listed with topo maps and access points.  Or you can download just the Devil's Lake map (for a fee) if that is the only one you are interested in.

Yes that was the lake map i located.

Thank you for the idea on the sportsman`s connection, and if i must, i will.  Sad thing is, the information they use to put those books together is free.

I just figured, someone would be kind enough to enlighten a person seeking general knowledge, i have tried to locate via your states dnr website the information without much success, when it comes to finding access point information. Yes i could call and possibly obtain the information, which is most likely what i will have to do now.  Glad  i didn't ask for honey hole locations or anything <jk>

The public access is located on the southwest portion of the lake.  It is actually the northwest point of the soutwest section, if that makes any sense.
