Who thinks theres gonna be safe ice by the weekend??

i went to stump last weekend and had about 6", but this last warm up prob killed it.

anyone thinks there will be safe ice by the weekend??

Just gonna depend on where U go....some ponds opened right up over the weekend, & the overnight rain made some places much worse. But, with 20's every night this week we plan on gettin' out someplace even if it has to be a real small pond....

stump is fine, was there yesterday. every where in the northern part of the state should be safe right now. i might go back to stump tomorrow or Wilson's again

i was thinking about hittin up wilsons soon, ive never ice fished it but did rather well during the summer off the boat

The upper 40's and rain barely affected the ice in most places here.  I was out on sat, and then again yest.  Didn't notice a change at all on main ice thickness.  Its just a little thinner around the edges, but is plenty safe to get out on.

It was 20 or less this AM.  Most ice is good now in Northern RI. It is supposed to stay cold all week so it will be fine by the W/E most everywhere in the State, I would guess.

I wouldn't say everywhere... the high is Forty today, which can only add to the damage.  I would be wary on anything in the southern end of the state.

I agree with Flagup... we fished on sketchy ice on Sunday in S. RI.   The rain on Sunday night opened up some places in Southern RI. IMHO-   I would be careful as these places will not be totally locked up by the weekend - even with the nights in the 20's...

Might add some snow this weekend so be real sure what you're walking on.  We were thinking about the south end of the state for this weekend too but I'll have to check them out Saturday first.

I was out on Barbers today, good 5" plus, lost a nice rainbow too
