Big Bay

How was the ice over on Big Bay for anyone who got out today. I steelie fished the river and couldnt get over there today. Thanks much guys

Fished it yesterday in the rain. There was about 4" of ice, I don't think the warm weather effected it much.

Thanks alot, some places got real sketchy yesterday so trying to figure out where im headed in the morning

I came off the ice at 4:30 and it was fine for the most part, 4" to 5" I'd say: To the East of the access (from the old Lake Fish Co. parking lot) and out about 1/2 mile there was some shaky looking ice, guys were on it but I wouldn't of been, I was about 10 yards inside it today and 4 turns of my 5" auger with zero down pressure and you were through, I backed up and walked back to the pack out from the culvert !!!

After losing a long time friend and ice fishing buddy of many years "to the ice gods" I have since lost the "There's others out there, so its safe" attitude !!!
