Not a lot of fish at Dillenbeck today but there must have been 100+ people fishing there today.

There seemed to be a lot of people out everywhere today.  On route 2 just before the intersection of 314(?) there were a ton of cars parked on the side of the road.  Out at Carry Bay, there were many too.  Also, I wondered if there might be a rescue training exercise going on, the South Hero rescue crew was suited up in diving gear.  No one on the ice seemed alarmed, that's what led me to think it was training, and not an actual rescue.  No fishing for us today, ice migh tbe a bit soggy?

Lake Willoughby on the first day of laker fishing last year ! The lake froze after the big snows and had the best ice of any lake in the NEK.

Lots of people fishing the setbacks for sure.

tried to fish dillenbeck but there was no place to put a tipup so we went to carry and there were lots of people there as well but was able to find a spot to fish.  I also saw the ambulances and fire trucks just as I was leaving, wonder what that was all about cuase no one was in any hurry

My feeling is that is was a drill because the people on the ice didn't seem alarmed nor did the rescue people seem to have a sense of urgency about them.  I do hop it was just a drill.

Wish they would have more ice rescue drills around here. Very in need of it. One of these days it unfortunatly will be needed. Conn. river or any ice for that matter, is no place to play.
