Before the snow

I had plans with Trooper Bri to fish the NW corner today but the snow scared us off since  it is an hour trip for us both.
Decided to fish a spot local to me that usually produces lots of fish jigging. It was a bit slow but I managed a few nice fish including this LM...


It was an excellent fight on the jigging rod! ;D

and a few nice crappie...



There were some sunnies and perch in the mix but not the fast and furious action I've had in the past. I was fishing in about 20-25fow, the crappie were suspended about 2ft off the bottom and all other fish came just off the bottom but I was constantly adjusting depth while using my Marcum. All the jigs were tipped with moussies.

All in all a pretty nice solo trip before the big dig! :-\

Nice pics, Spanky, great looking fish.  I bet the snow changed plans for a lot guys.  We hit a couple small local ponds, just jigging as well.  We stayed close to home but didn't get off the ice until 3. The ride home was a little slick and had to take it slow.  Monday we'll be shoveling out and hopefully back on the ice Tuesday morning.

nice fish at least you had fish , i went to lake williams with my son and brother 5 flags 1 perch and 1 small pic, was on the ice at 7 am till 11:30
