How do you freeze your catch?
« on: Dec 23, 2010, 07:29 AM »
I was just wondering how you guys freeze your fish you keep?  I put mine in a zip lock bag and fill it with water, and freeze it that way.

I guess I should try that.  I have one, but have always done it in the block of ice water.  It stays fresh enought with the sealer?

I used to freeze in a ziplock filled with water. I know vac seal everything - fish, venison, veggies - and love it.

I also vaccume seal everything... but I also wrap in plastic as well to give a double air tight lock. I have the Sportmans pro foodsaver and use it for everything, it is also the main method I use for my Personal Chef clients for the heat and eat meals I put up for them.
