Anybody know where one can get one of these???
« on: Dec 22, 2004, 06:27 PM »
Does anyone know where you can buy a pole like the one in the image below?

I've had this pole for nearly 15 years now and have been trying to find these on the web.  I've found a newer style, but this pole catches 3 to 1 when I use a pole that I jig by hand.  Thought I'd buy one for my boy so he has something that not many others have.  It always makes people look when they walk by.

NOTE: This pole operates on 2 "C" batteries and has an adjustable jig rate (see knob underneath), which also determine the amount of jigging movement vertically.

Looks like a "Thrumming Rod"

I've seen similar....you push the button on the top and the rod bounces up and down from inside the handle.

Ah, the automatic jigging rod....a buddy of mine LOVES these and has several.  he ended up having to buy one off ebay last year, but there arent a whole lot of them in circulation.  Next time I talk to him I will see if he knows of anywhere else to get them.  Neat little deals....they do catch lots of fish.

IOWA BASSER ... thanks for the info.  I called Dick's Bait and Tackle and they had these poles available.  Between my dad and I, we have 16 new poles.  Thanks again.

I hope you dont end up with BuzzSticks.
Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.

I actually looked at the buzz sticks, but I like the poles I bought a lot better because they jig vertically instead of all over th e place.  In my opinion, a vertical jig is better than all over the place like the buzz sticks.  When I talked to people using the buzz sticks I've heard that they are just as succesful with a regular pole.
