First ice Pike

Got out today for first trip. ice was 3 in. solid black, very slow morn 3 or 4 perch and a few whips. Around noon this guy showed up 12#  3oz., nothing after that. Very sloppy, shakey, shakey hike back.   Quag

Nice fish Ronnie u got first one this year. I'm gonna head out for a half day fish tommarrow. Were u at Warwick lake.

They HAD a good pike program, I recently found out they haven't stocked pike in 3 yrs.

Nice fish dude !! ;D ;D I believe its official,the first nice pike of the season. It takes a special breed to walkacross 3"s and allot of 2 ish in between. Its only getting thicker from here. Better times are coming !!!!!!! Flag up!!-SS

Myself and my two buddies were out fishing on saturday as well, you stopped by and talked to us on your way.  We didnt do anything saturday, but today I was fishing pretty much the same area and pulled this 33" out, according to the chart it was around 9.5-10 lbs.  Ice was pretty much the same today, around 2.5-3".  A few more people out though.
Glad you got home safe, you earned that fish!

Good fish Joe, persistance pays off. You were the guy with the Nils, right? I wanted to come by and bs with you guys, but I was too far away.   The ladder is for ice heaves, and if you've never had to jump a heave to get home, just keep fishing. one day you'll say " now i know why that guy had a ladder". Hope to get back out one day this week. Anyone want to go PM me.   Quag

Yep, I was the guy with the Nils.  I'm hoping to go again this week as well, I'll PM you and let you know.  I have the week between christmas and new years off of work so im really hoping these temps do what the forecasters say so I can hit it hard that week.
