There are not too many lakes in NW Indiana and the Slough is by far the most productive.  Wish we had the quantity of lakes to hit as those who live in the NE corner, but we don't.  It's our only major productive source, so that is why it gets all the attention, and if I can help a fellow angler I will continue to post...JMO

Your hearing a lot about this lake because it is one of the first to freeze. Also, it has good population of QUALITY FISH. Whenever you could see 50-200 fishermen fishing at once, that should tell you something. And now with the limit removed look out. It will be a man house this weekend.

I'll post a pic this weekend, he is not joking.  My guess is we will be parking in the campground this weekend.  200 is not an exaggeration on a weekend.

Last year I counted 60 shantys just around the Morman hill area.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Yeah that place will be crazy this weekend! A slow weekend out there is 200 people...At least the road going back into Mormon is frozen. One guy gets stuck on that road and everyone goin in or out is screwed until he gets pulled out...

As long as it stays cold we should be alright. Last year there were some deep ruts. I bottomed out a couple of times.

Went to the Slough for the first time this year. Had a good afternoon caught alot fish and a fair amount of good 8 inchers. Teardrop with wax worm and also plastics (Little Atoms). Shallow 3-4 ft. site fishing was awsome!!!!  :icefish:
