Sewing thread mono thread. ROFL.
« on: Dec 14, 2010, 06:36 PM »
Given price <$2 for 300 yards this is amazing stuff. It has a few issues like wanting to twist up on itself on the ice. But it lands pretty good fish.
I am thinking pre stretching when spooling would stop that though. Like making a furled leader.

I used Coats.

Anybody else got comments?

I use Singer sewing thread. Works great, I didn't have any line twist issues, But i'm also fishing in less than 10FOW.

dont pre stretch before spooling as that will cause the line to aggressively, sometimes uncontrollably jump off the spool when you open the bail.

Uh.... slater cane pole reels don't have a bail or bearings or more than two metal parts.
