Carmi's been fishable for close to a month! ;D

Haha if the cold stays here probably a week, maybe two

I may do some investigations this weekend and see if she's fishable yet, anyone else checked it out? I got all rigged up and no where yet to go!

Went out yesterday before work around 2pm and i stepped out on and broke through. about an inch of ice. good news was there was no snow on it. With the cold forecast it should be fishable this weekend if walking out.

Went out today and caught 3 walleye in a few hours. !!!!Watch out for some spots!!!!!! Saw guys all over the lake today. I never went out further than 100 yards. The fish I caught were all shallow. I found 6 inches in most places but then I found a spot with barely 2 inches............of real sketchy ice! That made me stay in the shallow. More power to brave guys out in the deep...

 Fish it's what's for dinner!

15 inch - 17 inch fish is good for dinner, you can keep 4... and then 17-19 inch fish are safe in the slot to throw back. You can keep one fish per person over 19 inch  + the 4 under achievers= total 5 fish a day. oh and 19inch+ is also good for dinner...

test it out. it'll be safe where I'm going as I don't travel too far out and I know where not to go... You just never know, but the wx seems ok for the week.

Somebody went across the lake with a snowmobile yesterday. Fished it friday in about 18ft of water. Saw a four wheeler out there today.

Hey- there's a bait store in Franklin but he doesn't open very early.
Don't get an "Arnie dozen", he sometimes only dishes out 11!!!

Try the points north of the state park on the East side in about 18 feet of water. Good luck!

you guys do much fishing at night up there? We used to do a lot of it when I was younger and folks had a place over on Oneida lake, mainly during soft water, but some during the late evenings with a light down one hole and electonics and jig sticks in another, with minnows both with just a hook and shot and some tipped jigs.

I have spent many nights on Carmi and I do best right at dark and just before 1st light.  From what I have seen the rest of the night is best for drinking or sleeping.
