Were you the one just south of the island with the kids?

We were south of you farther, I ended up bringing 15 home, but caught 60-70 easy.  Things have slowed down a bit, the schools moved around more today.

Good luck!

Yeah that was us.  Marked lots of fish.  Whats about the biggest crappie youve caught out of there this year?

mtelkhunter were you out there on Sunday just off the dam at sunrise?

we fished Sunday, caught a few crappies but where we were they were really moving around - catch one, one bite, etc., gone. We moved around tried a few different areas, all with same results. Perch, mainly small ones, but did catch a few in that 7-9-inch range, decided to keep a few as there seems to be an abundance of them. we cleaned them and they did have the worms - i talked to a fisheries biologist today and he said they are harmless. I still cut those parts with worms out. Didn't see any worms in the crappies.

Hey fellas, been reading the site for a while and thought i'd finally join.

I've been trying to find more info on the worms in perch in stockade. I hear a lot of people say they're harmless. But I'd just like to read a little more on it before I go out and keep some of them.  I'd also like to find out why they're there, are they a threat to other lakes in the future, things like that.  Thanks in advance for any help finding some links or info.

welcome JRO - i'm trying to find some more info, here's a start:

http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10364_52259_10950-26966--,00.html

I'm pretty sure they are yellow grubs.
