I just want to put a shout out to The Bait and Hook Store in Ft Wayne!
I am so used to walking into bait shops and not finding what i want! i was pleasantly surprised when i walked in and right by the front door is a Complete ice fly section. All the stuff to make 'em and complete ones too! These guys know whats going on and give their customers what they need not just what someone wants to sell! Yes, they are stocked and loaded with everything for the ice...vex's,  rods and EVERYTHING else! But the fly section blew me away!. If i had never tied one i could walk in and in 5 minutes have all i need! As i tinker with this stuff alot i can say the prices are right on too!

Every year there are threads started about the bait shops, good and bad, so i just wanted to give credit where credit is due! Its not often you see a bait shop that puts fishermen first! The best part is that its just a few minutes from the mall ....drop off mama and bolt to man land.

FYI...i have No affilliation with these guys other than i buy stuff...not even one of their best customers...just giving credit where its due!!

I wish I had a place close to me like that.Those type of bait and tackle shops are hard to find these days.

Agreed. It is always nice to support the local bait shop.  I try to avoid the bigger stores at all cost.  Plus you just don't feel like you receive the good personable service either.

they are just south of jefferson pointe mall off US24 on the south side. they have pretty good hours but if your stopping in from outta the area i'd call first. Just imagine the look of suprise when you tell your wife " can i drive you to the mall honey?".

Jim McArdle is the owned and one heck of a guy. I buy all my bass fishing rods and reels in there and usually stop in once a month just to bs and buy plastics, cranks, etc. I drive 45 minutes out of my way just to go there because he treats people very well. I have nothing but good things to say about the place. The best bait store anywhere around Fort Wayne.

wawasee you ever been to jonis in Milford? Its a nice little bait shop he does great on having alot of ice fishing stuff its close if your from wawasee and if he doesent have it he will get it for ya
