X67c in Sub-Zero Weather
« on: Dec 11, 2010, 11:45 AM »
I had an Eagle Fish Easy fish finder about 10 years ago.  It worked great for a while ice fishing in Wyoming.  The temps never got below zero.  During my second season in Montana, I was fishing in -15 weather.  The LCD on the fish finder disappeared and never came back.  I had to chuck it and get a new one.  Now I have a Lowrance X67c.  I have heard that these units can withstand sub-zero temps.  I have used it below zero before without trouble, but not -15.  Do any of you have experiences with this unit in bitter cold weather that you can share?  How cold?  Has anyone had one that broke in cold weather?

it should not be a problem. from what I have read you will be more likely to call it quits due to extreme cold before the x67.

Appearantly the screen is NOT an LCD but some other technology.

I've used my X67c in -20 to -30 three times, the battery didn't last nearly as long, ok other than that. My Snosuit did a great job too.

No problem with mine in cold weather.
Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
          Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
       I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
           And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
              BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.
