Edmonton area-

Devils Lake- 2-3"
Hubbles- 3-4"
Wabamun- 3-4" on townside, didn't make it back over to Seba. (Was open water 3 days prior)

5" on the south side of Devils punched 4 holes but didn't venture out very far being by myself.
Star lake had about 5 people fishing it today.
Mink lake had 1 tenet set up on it

Still 3-4" of solid ice at the north end of Newell but only close to shore, the middle of the bay only froze over last night. 15 minutes in and I have my first fish of the season.

Eagle lake ice report:: 50 yrds out from shore is 14" of clear black ice.. 100 yrds out 13" 150 yrds out 12" of clear ice.. people driving on including myself.. tight lines boys

17" of ice on Wabamun everywhere I fished yesterday. Ice heaves are prominent and seem to be everywhere. Lots of guys on the ice with 3/4 tons and 1 tons.

15 to 18 inches on Wed on Sylvan. No ice probe so we walked the sled out in the morning. Guy next to us rolled out around 10am with a welder in the back of a duramax. We brought the truck out after lunch break...

First and foremost Happy New Year. Second my New Years Resolution is to hard attempt to hard water other species.
I've been a committed trout guy for the first 4 season. And I'll get to spend the Bass Pro gift on new gear for the added species.

went to crawling valley on Friday 16" on the north end.. 2 fat but short pike..

Saturday went up to upper kananskis. 12 to 14" no bites

24" of ice on Pigeon yesterday, and anywhere from 1-6" of floodwater. Little unnerving driving around even with all the safe ice underneath. The ice was starting to show signs of fingers and candling with the sediment settling through the ice about 8" from the top. Scary to see mid January... Boats in before March 31st? Ha. Fishing also sucked yesterday.

Now a solid 26" average. No flood water. No boats until mid May at best. That is some crazy thick and hard ice on Pigeon this year.
