copper harbor

fished friday with a buddy for 4 hours or so. we caught smaller splake but nothing consistent or large. hopefully we will be able to get live bait soon.

we followed the trail out from the marina and fished all the way out towards porters island.  hopefully by new years we will have some ice. fannie hooe should be ready in 10 days or so, chunks of ice floating in it.

If you guys need a good fishing guide in the copper harbor area, Capt Larry SMITH of Fish on II Charters is a great start !!  He guides summer and winter months....His number is 906-289-4481. :tipup:

cant see where anyone would need a guide in copper harbor in the winter, pretty much straight forward ice fishing. nothing fancy about catching splake. as much as the splake move around there really are no bad spots to set up.

True, just a thought for people who don't know where to go or what they are doing or don't have any equipment.  Can you get out on Lac Labelle yet ?  I'm gonna try the menominee river today.
