Willow Slough opening date?
« on: Dec 02, 2010, 08:13 PM »
Is there a date this year when slough opens for ice fishing or is it open as soon as capped and safe?

Going to be tough, this year. Fish the channels early, just incase. Pray that we dont get a lot of snow.

Wow. 4 out of 7 post on this subject are negative.  Life is too short to be looking at things that way, especially when it is something that is out of our control.  Personally I'm looking forward to fishing at the "Slough" this winter.  This is where I do most of my ice fishing and really enjoy going there.  If there is a fish kill there this winter, the lake will come back, it has recovered before.  Hope to see you alll out there having a good time cause that's what it's all about. I was at the Slough last Sunday for a duck hunt after the rains. They told me the water only came up 1 inch. It was just me and my 11 year old and we never made it to our blind because of too much ice. Others seem to make it okay but we just couldn't get anywhere. Maybe if I would have had another adult to help.
