Awesome looking dogs!  I had a husky that used to go out on the ice with me and the pics reminded me of her!  She did not pull my sled but enjoyed the cold weather and was a great companion! Unfortunately had to give her to another loving family soon after my son was born......alergies to dog dander and nasty athsma so we had to give her away.  She went to a beautiful home and we got to visit her every now and then!  She passed on last summer.  Good luck with the dogs you have.......from the pic you can tell you love them!!!!

Mr. Sodus those are beautifull fishin buddies you have there!! I was thinking of trying to see if I could get my yellow lab to pull my gear for me on short trips on nicer days when he gets bigger. We just got our first big dump of snow here Remingtons first time seeing snow and he loves it. Any advice on training a dog to pull? He's only 16 weeks now so I wont even think of starting with him till next winter.

Have him pull an empty sled with a couple of milk jugs with a few pennies in them. He'll get used to the noises and clunking behind him really quick.
I'm sure you pull stuff that loosens up and clangs around. It just gets them accustomed to it.

But, never work him until at least 10 months.

Then, a cool down after a good jog.

Mine simply love it. They can't get enough.

With no long fur, I'd either:
A) only bring him on a dry day
B) make sure you have a waterproof pad to lay him down on.
C) think of, (at the age he is) maybe booties. They're selling pink ones on the web for breast cancer awareness. (A good cause and even the boys wear them to promote it) All of Mackey's dogs wore them in the Ititarod warm-ups and a couple of smaller runs, they look cool in dawn and dusk lighting...

Post a picture, let's see the lad!

Good luck and remember, once you're swimming, you are no longer an ice-fisherman.

Nice dogs guys, mines a couch potatoe doesn't like the ice. But can't get him off the fourwheeler when I'm plowing snow.

Her name is Flag.
THAT creates some confusion...

better yet, get them a mini jet sled and let them pull the bait. couple of jackets and studded booties, they'd be rockin'.
