11th Hour Walleye
« on: Apr 01, 2010, 06:27 PM »
Opened the cabin up on L. Manitoba yesterday morning with plans to try and nail a few elusive L. Man. walleye for seasons end. Several freindly ice fishes congregated tight to the beach so I joined. Witnessed some real fatties caught by one very patient individual, largest being a solid 25.

I managed a couple hits and had a real scrap when I hooked into a 33 inch burbot :o. All around caught at least one walleye...except for me. :(. Near dark and alone now I pulled up my lines and threw in the towel for the season :'(.

Decided to troll a bit with my last baited line and thus moved from hole to hole. On my third stop, WHAM... landed a fat 22 incher in six feet of water :).

Nice season finish. Returned in victory to a wood stove warmed cabin and a glass of good scotch ;D!

Have a great off season all! :)

8)What a nice day to end the season .  I think we'll see more anglers out on Lake Manitoba next season. Lot's of Walleye caught this winter by anglers. Maybe next season will be Perch ? I pulled up two Walleye just over 22 at sunset in front of my place. Happy open water season . ;)
