George and other whiteshell lakes?

Im considering heading out to George next weekend to give the trout a shot but am kinda worried about the ice/slush conditions. Will probly be traveling on a quad and don't want to get stuck in slush out in the middle! Anybody been out to George or other comparible whiteshell lakes this weekend? Reports?

not sure which way you plan on going but i'd be no way crossing the winnipeg river

Go from the Nutimik side! Was out in LDB on the weekend and its getting ugly quick! Whatever you do don't cross the Winnipeg river at Point du Bois, Cant trust that area!
