Finally got out to do some lake trout fishing. Originally we were going to Stony Lake but we changed our minds to another good laker lake. The only thing was the lakers forgot to come to the party. We got there about 11:30 pm Friday night quickly set up camp then went to bed thinking about big lakers. The ice conditions were awesome, about 1/2" crunchy snow and 18" of clear black ice. We quickly set up on our first spot and within 15 min. I seen 2 fish on the finder then Darren's pole started to bounce, he set the hook but there was nothing and that was basically our laker fishing trip.
I never seen anymore fish on the finder including bait fish, we were all over that lake and nothing.
So for fear of being skunked we set up some holes for rainbows and we caught 8 all together. The main reason for the trip however was to test the Argo Toy Hauler.
It was very comfortable, fast to set up and take down. Here are some pics of the trip.
Ready to load the machines.
Everything packed and ready to go.
All set up
These are some of the huge fish we caught.
Some of the wild life we saw. White Swans
This is an otter playing around a open hole in the water.
It was a awesome time even though the big fish never showed up but now that we have a nice house to go to some of these remote lakes, watch out lakers!
