Colchester Pond- late conditions
« on: Mar 08, 2010, 07:11 AM »
I have not fished there is about 3 weeks.

Anyone out there this past weekend?

Does anyone think the conditions will be safe for this up coming weekend?

Thanks in advance.

I was out last weekend, and there was a solid 24" of ice out there....not much happening for me, but plenty of ice!

I'm thinking of heading out Saturday morning to give it another shot.

Well good to hear.....fish not as big as in champlain, but always catch fish there.  Biggest this year at Colchester Pond was a 5.5 lber.

I have some friends coming up this weekend and are hoping to get in at least another day in.  Hope the conditions are still good.

24inches of ice should still be ok.

What area did you fish?  I have only fished the southern end.

I fished the south end. I've never fished the northern end, but I might take a walk and drill some holes on Saturday. I figure it's worth a shot, as long as this great weather holds, it's just nice to get out.

This summer I'm going to do some scouting with the canoe and explore the north end some more.

I was going to fish Mills Point, but I think it will be tough getting on.....never mind getting off.  May try Colchester pond as it has had much more ice this year......will check it out on Friday night to see what is happening as well as follow the board with reports of safe ice.

Will try very hard to get at least one more day in!!!
