Fished for years with a Mora. Moved up to the NilsMaster last year. What a difference. Drills fast and easy. I love it.

NilsMaster!!!!  I've used Mora. Lazer, you name it. Nothing cuts as fast and easily as a NilsMaster. PERIOD.

8" nils master, have one, and it cuts like a hot knife through butter.

I have an 8" mora that works good but the blades need replaced about once per year. Forget trying to sharpen auger blades, it just doesn't work. Even professional sharpeners can't fix them. I think I will try a nilsie hand auger myself as well. How much do they cost?

Cabela's has the Nils but they call it their High Velocity Auger. Run from $79 - $99 depending on size. I bought my 8" for $70 last year from a local tackle shop.

I use a 6" Mora, and take good care of my blades and I'm well satisfied.  The 8"
that I started out with was a pain in the butt.  Sooner or later I'm going to have to move up to a power auger though.
The problem with quotes on the internet is that they're difficult to prove.

I have an 8" Nils Master.  It used to work great but the blades are dull now.  I haven't been able to find a place to but replacement blades.  Anybody have a suggestion?

Does anyone know how much the nils master Weighs? I have A nice power auger but there are some great lake on the island that require some tough hiking and i am tired of having to wait to go with someone else or going by myself and hurting my back.

I tried to find some info on it...even the Cableas high velocity auger is sold out (8") and they don't list a weight...mine will be here sometime next week ,supposedly, if you don't have your answer by then, I'll let you know....I assume you are looking for the weight of the 8'' auger???

Yup i want an 8 incher , i'll probably get one even without the weight cuz hand augers are substantially lighter than gas augers. It is nice to know the weight, however, because it tells me what else i can pack. I hike a lot for rainbows and ptarmigan so i know my weight limit.

The Nilsmaster is the high velocity auger offered by HT enterprise??  Everywhere I look, there is no mention of Nilsmaster.
