I know that this is an ice fishing forum but i am getting that itch to get the boat out. Yeah then when fall comes i'll be itchin to get the ice tent back out. Anyways- I am thinking of getting a new depth finder this year and was wondering if anyone has seen or actually used either of the side imaging units on the market today? As in the humminbird or the new lowrance. I would really love to see one or both of these units on the water before spending that kind of cash. I have always used lowrance sonar but im not stuck on it. I've actually never seen a humminbird sonar on the water. Are they good sonars? I live in the waterloo/cedar falls area and would love to see either of these units on the water come spring if anyone would be willing to let me go fish with em for a day.
