If you are close to PA,  Pecks Pond is supposed to be great for BIG perch.
Right on Route 402.

Jumbo's, Jumbo's Jumbo's, the eternal quest, seeking the easy answer are you not Grasshopper?????

Well here's what I will tell you, so listen hard... The big girls are always dead nuts on the bottom, and deep 98% of the time, they don't get that way in the weeds eating micro forage, but meat, herring to be specific.

They move to find that bait, so it's a rare catch unless you hit a school of the big girls chewing at the time you are over them.

Swartzwood Has/Had them, but they rarely come in big numbers. Green Pond (private) has/had them, 1990 and I had 18 from a pound to 1.93 lbs. and they were all girls, the 2 that were 14 oz. were males. The big girls don't travel with the small boys, they tend to orient by size.

By weight, the later in the ice year, the bigger the guts they will have, dangerous ice or ice out before they spawn. So that's 2 for you. One public and one private. My secret spots are like others will tell you, not for public consumption.

Good luck with the size thing Bud.

never stop looking for them. if you know a lake has perch in it, then they dont just dissapear. they are there but sometimes you jsut gotta dig for em! but once you find it, oh once you find it, cancel all your plans for the next week cause you will be a slave to the ice!

For whatever it may be worth (And I dont know after all these Yrs like over 15 Maybe!)  Spruce Run used to have some Monster Perch in it back then and I mean Big (2Lb +) as my Brother has Photos and a Mount from one caught there back in the days from open water that was Huge! and I saw them caught through the Ice too back then at the time but again, that was over 14yrs ago and I don't know if those (Big Sumo's)  are still in there or not (Probably Not!)  But I have only fished it through the Ice the Past Decade and haven't caught any Perch only Pike and Bass but who knows about those Perch in there! as maybe some of you other guys on here have caught them in there more recently? But I do know that it used to be the Place to go (Open water or Ice) back in the late 80's & 90's if you wanted to catch some of those Monsters!

Shouldn't post under the influence. Biggest perch I ever caught were over deep water sandbars on Spruce 30yrs ago. Sawbellies are still there so maybe those chunkers still are.

tonyrad's right.  Those big mamas don't hang in the shallows like the 9 - 10 inchers.  We used to jerk em in Swartswood but always in 30' + and yes, usually right on the bottom.  Now I've got the electronics and probed the depths but haven't found any real trophies for years.

as someone said in the past those biggens dont get that big by doing what the majority of the population does. they get that big eating meat (forage fish) and not the micro insects in the weeds.
