Tucker Pond
« on: Feb 08, 2010, 08:31 PM »
Hello all hard water folks,
Anyone know the conditions for Tucker Pond? Never fished it. Hows the Perch and Crappie populations there? Are there springs to look out for? Hows the ice? Thanks for any info.

Very healthy pond. Good mix of panfish crappies, perch, sunnys,BIG L/M. Great pond opening day, low fishing pressure, lotsa trout. BUT--It does NOT freeze well. To many springs? To close to the salt? to deep? Yup, I say all three. My two cents.

Even when it does freeze it's spotty, not worth taking the risk though I love it in the spring, some nice bass.

Thanks for the info. Think I'll wait until spring for Tucker and use a boat.
I live in N.Y. but I have a small cottage on Jamestown, I,m looking for lakes and ponds closest to that area to fish for anything that will bite. I am a strict catch and release fisherman. No work in construction right now, so I have some time to try to fish R.I. I target Pannies,Bass and Trout.Love to Jig.Any help would be appreciated.
