Lower Stillwater(Flathead)
« on: Feb 04, 2010, 09:39 PM »
I got out thier at about noone.  I had one bite at about 2pm in aobut 18 fow.  Then I movd in shallower.  I caught 8 little pike by dark.  They guy next to me caught a perch right at dark that weighed over a pound.   I just can't believe some of these guys in the tournement catching a limit of them.  Thats amazing.  In the perch assaults how many fish (max) are weighed per a team?

10 perch per team
we caught probably 30 but 20 of them were 3-4 inchers
is it wrong to be turned on by an icehole?

also we were fishing 7-8 fow and moving a lot trying to find pockets in the tall weeds it seemed like the bigger the lure the better i was using about a 1 inch buckshot in a perch color tipped with waxworms bring extras cause the pike like to take them.
also a vexilar with the low power mode is a lifesaver unless you want to keep moving your house so you can see down the hole

I was using little jigs with maggots in about 10ft.  The 1+ pounder came only 50 ft away.  The guy said he had a pike on twice that burnt his hands with the line.  It got away both times.  All mine where under 20 inches
