North End Of Flathead Lake
« on: Feb 01, 2010, 10:07 PM »
I was wondering if anyone had info on the north end of Flathead.  All this excitement about the south end makes me wonder if the same is happening on the north end?
Any success?

the North end of Flathead isn't frozen....  Sommers Bay was frozen earlier this year but last I saw the wind and warm weather broke the ice up and pushed it on the shore.  If Sommers bay is frozen over again, you can catch Macks and Pike in there pretty readily.  I haven't fished it this year, ice has been too sketchy for me!

If were real lucky Woods Bay freezes over every 20 years. Last time was the late 90's.

Thanks guys you saved me a gallon of gas.  I'm going to try Smith today for some pike.  I really wanted to get on Flathead when it was frozen over but never could.  I guess I could take my boat out thier.  ahaha  I might get kicked out of here for talking about a boat.  Thanks

Swore it froze over more than that, at least a little ways out, but that was in the 70s and 80s. Swan's ice doesn't seem as solid as it used to be too.
