do you tie your own steel leaders? or are they already snelled with a hook? trying to figure out best methood i have tried both not sure which is best

Don't use steel leaders - Just tip up line. 60-100 lb test.

Really? that is crazy haha i actually was wondering that the other day if that would work. There are so many differnet methods I guess..Wish I lived up there and could fish for some of those monsters you guys got, you have them dialed in

Seems small in comparison to some here as there was no real girth to this 42" i caught and released yesterday

haha thats awesome, and to spear it must have been a RUSH!!! congrats on the pb post a pic of the mount when you get it... I want a northern moutn some day i feel it is tough to find a place that does them justice.

My brothers so far this year.. 36.5" 13lb... He's holding it out to make it a bit bigger looking lol




What I wouldn't give to fish a month in Saskatchewan.....Wow.

Got this one last year. We usually only catch walleye and perch at that location so we only use a 6 inch auger. Much easier to get through 30 inches+ of ice. Managed to squeeze this fella up. For some reason it looks small in this pic, it was a squeeze fit through the 6 inch hole. Caught him on a small swedish pimple with a very small treble hook while jigging for perch in the afternoon. Sure surprised my buddy and I when this thing hit! Didn't have a scale or tape but I guessed he was 9-10lbs.
