Carmi 1-30/1-31
« on: Jan 31, 2010, 08:21 PM »
Went up to Carmi for some Walleye action this weekend, boy were we in for a treat.  Saturday we fished 2pm til 8pm and got these.  Mostly 15 1/2 to 16

And the last fish of the night.  21"

Then we went back today for some more.
Not a bad start 22" Eye

20 1/2" Walleye Jigged

And this bonus Pike caught in 30 feet of water.  What a fatty.  We let this guy go to be caught another day.

The last fish for today.  21"

Two days catch all layed out.

The Perch we got jigging

Wow nice haul!!        I haven't fished Carmi in years. The last time I was there we were pike fishing.  I didn't realize it was a good walleye lake.

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!!

Carmi is good for eyes. The perch are jumbo as well usually. Thats a real nice pike for that lake though
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable,
a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

That's great to see you catch them with the sun up in some of the pictures!!! I haven't caught any unless it's dark or just turning... How'd you cook 'em... This time around we went for fish tacos baja style.  Did you find them in the deeper water? I only seem them in the shallows.. My best was 22' and 4lbs so far. I had a lot of run and drops last week...

Nice bunch of fish. At first look I was thinking that pike was around 13 pounds.

It really seems to turn on at dark, but that day it really didn't matter.  When it's hot, it's hot.  I just hope we can find some hogs for the derby.  Goose
