« on: Jan 30, 2010, 01:17 PM »
Anyone fish big bay on the Hudson river in the summertime it seems there is hardly any current in there but I'm still a little sketch about it I've heard of people ice fishing it and I know there has to big slime darts in there
dude, it looks like you painted black stripes on the backs of the baitfish!

about a 5-10 min walk from hudson pte. development. when the fish are biting well worth the walk. yes it is legal to park there and walk in.

ice is super sketchy there. Will be 6 inches then take 10 steps and you're at 2 inches. I wouldn't waste my time since there's safer ice 10 minutes away where the fishing is 10 times better.

I had a few buddies fish it last weekend and the ice was again 5" here, 3" there and 10" over there. becareful and travel with friends, let your loved ones know where you are fishing and when your coming home incase the bad happens. BTW, they only caught 1 or 2 small pikerals and they didn't want to move around much.

Thanks dude. Now we're gonna have 30000 IS lurkers converging on big bay in the next half hour. Sometimes I feel like...somebodies watching meeeeeee. Kidding dude.

you may be kidding about this but its the truth! now people will know how to access this little area and will pound it to death and the same people who post about it now will be whining when they cant catch fish there. Some things are better left off the internet.

it already gets hit pretty hard. besides i would rather help someone out on here rather than have them access it at a bad spot. i have done it several times and let me tell u that walk is bad enough make a wrong turn and it gets ugly.

I was kind of kidding but kind of not. I deleted my posts. We helped out a few of our own IS guys, good enough. We should learn to start pm'ing each other with nitty gritty dirt like that. My bad.

I can tell you staight up, the ice is always Sketchy there. I have fallen through the ice there. The walk down from Hudson pt. is good going down , but a pain in the a.. going back up. Fishing isn't that great either!
I used to access it a diffrent way, But the landowner said its off limits now. Someone took it upon themselves to cut up his picknick table last year to use as a plank to get out to ice. Now no one can go through his property. If your on hear "Way To Go"  Hope your proud!

if your talking about the group of camps then some people still have access look for a red 4 wheeler then look for a blue shanty hub style   im not saying the ice is great  but what time of the year did you fall through? was it near the bog were you get on? i've been fishing the bay for at least 20 years now and the time i had a problem and fell through was when i was being dumb      and the fishing sucks if you don't know were to go on it           but can be rewarding when you find the right spot

Because the northern part is just as clean as any other PCB-free water

Its all good moshpitbull. It seems like every thread gets its share of razzing. My buddies and I throw shots at each other all day long on the ice. The only difference is. When its online you can't see or hear chuckling.
