Spring Bobbers
« on: Jan 28, 2010, 10:21 PM »
I picked up a couple of those Frabil spring bobbers. I expect these work very well in certain conditions, like summertime, when they can't ice up.  ;D What do you guys use? I heard a suggestion of using surgical tubing...

The wire spring bobbers with the big holes. The smaller ones ice up when it's really cold. I usually just blow on them to get the ice out.

The frabill spring bobbers work great when I'm in my heated shack  :) but yeah they are terrible when you are out in the elements. I want to try that wire style definitely. Heard they are leaps and bounds better from pretty much everyone.

Wire ones are the way to go for in or out of the shanty!  They got'em at Robert's & Scheels carries them as well for under 2bucks.

Zimmer2,
You ever have a problem with that type spinning around the pole and not staying right on top?

I use the spring bobbers, but I always fish in a heated shack. Getting old and cold ;D
