Pierce lake question(Rock cut)
« on: Jan 27, 2010, 10:42 PM »
I was just wondering if anyone has been out there lately. I have a couple questions. How's the ice and I have never been there on the ice just wondering if its fairly safe to move around or is there some springs or week spots? Thank just trying to keep it safe. I'm thinking about going there this weekend if anyone is interested also.

I've been interested in giving that lake a try too. What day are you going out there?

Yeah we were on 90. That had to be it. Let me know how you do always looking for new spots and not to crazy of drive. Also when we were coming south on 39 i noticed a lake right off the interstate in Rochelle. It had some structure waiting to be sunk in southeast corner of lake. Do You fish this Icecube? Is it public looked like it?

Thanks Lee

Yea thats lake sule Its not a bad spot usually  I have been out there a few times bite has been slow lately. If you decide to give it a try becareful of the creek that runs from one side to the other the ice that goes across it is not always that safe.

I was out on Pierce during the rain last Saturday.  The ice was still decent 6-8 inches in most places.  Be careful near the open water around the dam....you will see it, it is pretty obvious.  Ice fishing has been really slow on Pierce this year.  I have only been out on Pierce a couple times this year, but everyone has been saying how slow the fishing has been so far.  Last year, I went out several times and did quite well.

Hope this helps!
