Sandy Pond survives
« on: Jan 26, 2010, 12:42 PM »
Just came back from the Wigwam.  Didn't fish, but wanted to go check out the damage after this weather.  All looks fine all water has frozen up, CLEATS a good idea.  Becareful on the shoreline, lots open.  Right at the access at the wigwam it's open around their perm dock/rock jetti, also open just to the right of the ramp, the rest along shore VERY weak.  One guy did ride a wheeler out (fresh tracks in the dusting of snow) Jst pay attention.  It was snowing a bit, but very windy so most is blowing away
Good luck all

I fished the elms this morning. There is 10-12" of good black ice and it was very windy. You need cleats or korkers because it is as slick as a ice rink. The shore is melted back a little bit so be careful. Other than that the fishing was awesome.

That sounds awesome heading up to camp at Sandy Beach Campground next weekend can't wait to stop at the Sportsmens Club while the camp warms up.
