Big Bay Access Question
« on: Jan 21, 2010, 06:13 PM »
How are you guys getting out on Big Bay? Does everyone walk out from Toad Harbor or is there a public access point out the west side of the bay?

There is a place to park at end of road.  You pay 3 bucks and go in down by bar.  I usually drop my equipment at the bar and park so I dont drag my sled on the road.

Never fished Big bay, was thinking about giving it a shot. Good depths to try? Is it mainly pans, perch, or mix? Succesfull setups or idea?

Any suggestions would be great thanx.

It's all 6 - 7' deep... just follow the crowds... it's a Big Bay tradition.... ;D

It's nothing to be pulling a few fish and soon have guys drilling 5' behind you.... 8)  It's all good and you'll meet quite of few people.  Look for a pirate wearing Black Arctic Armour and become his shadow  ;)

you can either  park at the bar on comac  road i think it's called  or  go down keller to the old oneida lake  fish place it's 3 bucks there  and walk a bloc to the lake , the trail is getting icy so if you don't have corkers i would say go to the bar and walk out

Many people park at Big Bay marina/bar and walk out from there.   I don't know what he charges to park but if you buy a beer or lunch when you're done or before you go out, they'd appreciate it and probably wouldn't charge anything.
Easier walking to the bay and no dragging your shacks or sleds on any roads
PLASTICS ARE FANTASTIC  !!
