If I can find someone to walk on with I'm going to tomorrow. Early ice on LG scares the heck outta me. I do know for a fact that a bay has been fished.

Fishlakegeorge- You can't miss my portable. Black Ice cube. There will probably be a good handfull of us. Stop in and say hey. Believe me we'll be approaching with caution but all of us appreciate the emphasis on safety. It's not being a jerk at all-kingfshr16. Some of my buddies were a little more rude than that.

I'll also mention for safety's sake. Most of the locals around here know where to be and not to be walking around out by those islands. For those that don't know the lake as well that may take a trip up because they saw these posts. Stay the heck away from the islands. Do NOT try to walk between them. The water around them has a slight flow to it and doesn't freeze the greatest. In retrospect it may have been wise to keep it to myself. Once I decided I was settled on Harris, I noticed someone else from here was planning on making it so I made an attempt at buddying up until I realized I had a few people joining me.

I'm on harris now. There's 5" near the islands. There are 10 of us out on the new ice with 2-3". Not much action. While I was posting this I got a flag and stripped lol. A few dinks bait stealers is all that's going on for me.

i just got home from harris,if you want to get to the 30fow mark you have to brave the 2'' of ice,its a little sketchy and the bite is real slow and real real lite,i did manage 15 keeper perch and some gills 1 is an absolule pig

yeah this guy aint bravin 2" ice even after losing 25 pounds. its weird, last year first ice out there was slow and the fish were also bighting ridiculously light . 2 years ago they were practically jumping out of the holes till that rat race started. thanks for the info!!! stay on top.

Waaaayyy slow for me. I'll try again thursday. It didn't look like anyone was doing the greatest. We hung around on 5-6" of ice til some old dude headed out without batting an eye. We followed his footprints out. ;)

The wind was bad. Mad props to the guys out there with no shelter. Bird21s was out there near me most of the time. No shelter and still outfished me like 8-1. He didn't want to get warm because it would make it colder when he got out. Call me a wuss but I spent 2/3 of the day in my cube with the coleman going. Which is also why I did so poorly (Gotta blame it on something!) The guys that did the best did a ton of moving around.

Believe me man. I'm no daredevil. It scared the heck out of me. I didn't even like watching them guys walk out. Tonight and tomorrow we should be making some good ice where everything is already capped. This weekend will be crazy down there. Hope noone pushes it to far though.

I definitely appreciate the heads up. But, there's no shame in my game. I guess its good to know they're keeping an eye on people.
