insulated rubber boots or a good pair of gore-tex pac boots. The  old white mickey mouse military boots are great in the sub temps. LOOKS FUNNY BUT WHAT THE HELL !!!

I got Kamik Goliaths. Rubber but insulated and comfy to -75 Steal toe as well. Really nice. They were $125

Yep.  Have had the same problem myself.  I've resorted to always keeping an extra pair of boots in the truck - just in case.   My L.L. Bean pak boots usually do the job, but it's only a matter of time before my feet start to get wet - especially if there's lots of slush.  Good luck!

I use sorel glaciers and gortex rain gear (pants) overlapping the boot snug with a zipper and velcro. I have gone in knee deep (did that sign say thin ice?) to several seconds and remained dry.

I have tried 100% waterproof but my feet sweat very easily and that is worst than getting a little water in (for me).

I use snow seal on the upper leathers.I heat the boot with my wife's hair dryer while shes sleeping ::) ::) .I apply the snow seal on and let it get sucked into the pours of the leather.I apply it twice no wet feet .

Ive got Bogs Boots, they are so warm and waterproof and very comfortable.

I've found that you really need 2 pairs of boots for ice fishing.

One for dry / snowy conditions that are warm. I use Cabela's Trans Goretex boots. Even though they are goretex, they will leak if kept in wet submerged conditions.
One for wet conditions: for times when there's a lot of water around your house or real slushy ice conditions. I use Lacrosse Burly boots 1500 gram insulation.

Always have creepers that fit both boots as well. I use Stabilicers.

I scored a pair of the old mickey mouse rubber boots right before I retired from tne Navy. Mine are black though.  Love them so much bought another pair at an Army/Navy store for my son.  Completely waterproof, even standing in water and very warm.  Used in -30 weather with no problem.

Rocky used to make a pair of boots that had built in flip down cleats. Has anyone ever seen another company make boots like that. A friend of mine has a pair and they are really nice boots, too bad rocky quit making them.
