So what part of the lake were you on. From the shoreline I'd say about 1/2 way to 2/3's down the South side?

Were you on a main trail or bustin a new one?

Glad you got out ok. Thats why my truck stays on land and I only walk or take my atv. Thats going to be hard to get out. Can you post pics of the removal?

Whitefish in Battle are tough to catch. Big Fish. Not very many of them.
Wirewraps are so/so. Wetaskwin's, Spoons and Wedding Bells usually a better bet. Use bigger tackle than you would at Pigeon. Bite is usually at first light. They are scattered so tough to find the hot spots. There are flats along the weed lines on the N and NE side. I'd start there. Walking out of course

Surprised by how little snow there is on Battle. From your pic it only looks like an inch. Would have expected over a foot based on what Dad had to push out of the yard last week.

Insurance doesn't cover driving on a lake and sinking your truck....That's a 25 000$ mistake.

as we all know battle lake is where the battle river starts yes theres a current yes there are lots of springs and yes it is very deep by central alberta standards and it drops quickly from shore in most spots everytime you drive onto the ice you are taking a stupid risk there i mean look even the commercial guys use sled/atv there.
