Palisades has claimed the life of a local icefisherman.

Very sad indeed.  That is my neighbors father.  Can't belive it.  Doing what he loved and wham, jsut like that.  RIP Brother.

He had just set up and fell through at Indian Creek. Ive heard rumors he was on a sled but I'd really doubt that anyone would even think about having a 600-800 lb sled on as thin as ice as it was. Palisades was almost all open water 3 weeks ago. Sad sad deal and best wishes and condolences for his family. Unfortunatly it sometimes takes a tragedy like this to wake us all up and be more aware out there!!

this is really sad, the worst thing that could ever happen to an ice fisherman.  i have a couple of friends that will go out on thin ice or ice that they dont even know is safe just for a chance to catch a big lake trout.  i have told them they are crazy and stupid but doesnt seem to register.  i hope this does not happen to one of them.  i dont even know this guy and it made me think different.
