Made my 1st ice fishing debut today...no chores,no work,no kids just time & bait....hit the lake about 8am and it looked like an auction on the ice. whew bunch of fellas on the lake.Met up with RiverScum & managed to catch a mess of gill's. {7"-8"} a few 9".Not bad 1st trip out... :tipup:

I did manage to forget to tell everyone the location these were taken from... :-\ Those gill's were taking {whispering} from silver....a.k.a "shanty town". great place to take a kid fishing. Have to do alot of sorting,unless you are starving & want to keep everything  :icefish: :tipup:

nice mess of gills! does anyone ever get over to hogback to fish through the ice? we camp there in the summer and always do good on the crappie and gills. and if your lucky you might land a nice smallmouth or pike. last time i was there i hooked into something little and about half way in i felt a few good thumps and when i got the 4 in. perch next to the boat i noticed it was down the throught of a 4 lb. smallie but the sucker seen me and let go :'(

There is a public access on the south side.Not many people know about it.

I talked to a C.O. out there last year and asked him about that access on the south side and he said it wasn't public but the owners never complain about people using it.  The road gets rutted pretty bad too especially later in the season.  4 wheel drive recommended.  That is not the site where they are thinking about putting in a public access.

Latest update....RiverScum & I went out yesterday hit Appleman. Very rough bite, walked off ice with 5 gill's. Then went to Big Turkey @ the launch. See alot of little bass on the Aqua View. No pic's  :-\

Hit Sylvan today went uptown. Drilled about 53 holes but I was not counting. Snow blizzard there. The bite was rough. Fish had lock jaw again.  no pic's :-\ next report Monday God willing.

Thats funny cause the lake map book says its a public access. Ill have to reread it it might say easement witch is kind of the same thing.Kind of like on lake of the woods in helmer.

Well hit Hamilton right after work this morning condition were rough,cold & windy. I did manage to pull a mess of crappie onto the ice.  :icefish:

all crappies were caught on a baby nils jig tipped with 2 beemonths... :tipup:

Well went out after work this morning to the holes I fished yesterday....weather conditions were better,but the fish were not as hungry today. I did get a few up on the ice.The size did not run as good though. I got a few Gills today,1 nice one for Hamilton. Caught most on a baby nils jig tipped with a beemoth.Picked the rest up on a teardrop & beemoth... :icefish:
