Went out tonight on my pond.  only lost a little ice.  With cold temps tonight and tomorrow we should be fine.

Went out Thursday AM time at GENO'S  only about 200 yards were ICE about 2" and you can see the water is moving under the ICE and it was very muddy and unsettled so I am only to assume today with the ICE and the 40 Degree weather is going to be gone

My local pond lost all the shore ice. Hard to tell how long it'll take to be accesible again.
Need temps in the teens to hasten the process.

So far I've had people tell me that Pontiac, Crescent, White, and Long were still fishable this morning.

Usually need to be aware of seams, cracks and minor springs. They do tend to thin much faster than the base ice does with rain on minimal early ice. Use your head and test, test, test......

3 inches on Craig in Branch County most lakes in this area are a little shaky after the rain.Probably the channels and real small shallow lakes might be alright.

IMO not good. I did the Vanderbuilt to Sunset ice check, day after Christmas tour after the rain to check ice conditions.   About 150 yds of ice from shore then white caps.  Haven't made that route since then.  I stayed within the islands at Geiger Road on Sunday, ice seemed pretty good at about 5" to 6" in most areas.  Walked out, but several people are running ATV's close to the islands.

Fished Caseville River tonight for Trout and Walleye no joy not even a bite.  Looks like I missed the run.  Ice was 5" in the river.
