It would be nice to have different options for bait. A famous bait shop in waterford has raised there perch minnows to 3.75 a dozen, cant do it. ridiculous.    mitchells bait has perch minns for 2.50 dzn. lets get a list going.

I always thought THAT place was sportsmen friendly.  :cookoo: :cookoo: :%$#!: I don't mind spending a few extra dollars at the mom n pop stores but I am not wanting to pay the mortgage myself.

If you have the means to store and take care of minnows, run up to the Imlay City fish farm. They are the dealer out here my way, usually 2 bucks a doz.

I get my bait from Gander Mtn and keep it overnight.  The bait shops in Waterford don't open early enough to cater to real sportsmen.  **censored** is 8am?  I have fish on the ice by then, you miss prime time waiting for the bait store to open.

K&D is off of M-59 right before Williams lake rd on the north side.  That taxidermy is at the corner of Elizabeth lake rd and Cass Elizabeth rd.  I forgot all about that shop.  Not to fond of K&D's.

Mitchell's is in Highland, on Duck Lake Rd about 1 mile north of M-59, right across from the DNR access on White Lake.

Mitchells is a joke, they are never open when you need them. It's a shame because its a couple miles from my house.
If your in the Milford area there is Holdens party store by Kensington

Why is KD  a ripoff?
I'm 3.49 for perch minnows (emeralds) and you get a count of about 3 dozen....same price for 4 years now.

Thanx for the business.....50 waxies for 3.49....same price for 4 years straight.
Ask for Ken next time you're in and I'll hook you up with some free waxies.

Do I know you? So, we are buddies now after you told a couple hundred people I was a big ripoff on bait???  ???

I comparison shop all the time to try and keep my prices as low as possible, but there are many things that affect the prices of bait.

When you go to other bait stores, look at their bait and ask yourself these questions:
Are the tanks clean?
Are there a lot of dead minnows in the tanks?
Is the water clean?
Is the water cold?
Is the water fresh or is it recirculated?
Is the water aerated properly?
Is the bait Certified VHS Disease-Free?
Did gasoline/diesel prices rise recently?
Does the shop have what you need when you need it?
Are the counts fair?

Not to be a suck-a$$, but in my opinion KD is my prefered bait shop in the area. Great bait, good selection of lures and a minute from work ;D

I Do a lot of night fishing and live 5 min. from KD's,  I always get my Waxies from Ken and they're HUGE!!! The only down fall is I have to get there before they close but isn't really a big deal to me.  I cant expect for him to stay open late (11 or 12 at night) for me.  Just got to remember to get there before they do close.  Ill be there tomorrow to get more.

Thanx guys.....I certainly appreciate the business.

I have my heart, my soul, all of my money and a bunch of the banks' money in this place, and with the economy here in our great State, it's getting real tough.

If anyone has any problems here at the store, please bring it to my attention and I will do my best to make it right.
I know of 3 bait shops that have closed in Oakland County alone this year......we need all the help and support we can get, as long as we earn it and deserve it.
