Any safe ice around Milwaukee yet?
« on: Dec 15, 2009, 01:25 PM »
Hi guys,

I am going crazy wanting to get out there but it doesn't seem like there are any lakes in my area that are safe.  Does anyone have anything to report within an hour of Milwaukee?

I really want to hit the ice this weekend if possible.

Thanks,

Grush.

Grush-

My info is only second hand from another website, but I see a report of about 5 inches of ice on Mauthe Lake in southern Fond Du Lac County.  That is about 1 hour 10 minutes from Milwaukee.  Seem to be catching pike and maybe panfish.  Hope this helps.  I am seriously thinking about getting out there this weekend.

Just was on wind lake northern Racine county, 3" of good ice, you can see the weed beds though the ice. not much action, small gills and perch.

Beaver Dam area lakes all should have 5 or 6 inches.  Fox Lake I believe has 6"
