Greetings and a Fast HELLO.
« on: Dec 12, 2009, 12:21 PM »
Just Wanted to Say Hello. Just My second day on here and   I am really enjoying all that I have read so far.
I look forward to reading and learning more from your info and story's. I was introduced to Ice Fishing  two winter's back, and
I am NOW HOOKED on it. I have never ever in my entire life dreamed for ICE to appear on the lakes . As My Friends would tell you that I'm the last one that they would ever have seen on the Frozen water. As I have moved to very warm places to beat the Cold. Being back in Canada now for the last 8 years I have learned to Dress warmer and to enjoy ICE FISHING.
With the best Part being that my Wife wants me to go.... She was saying that the times I have been out in the past two years , she has seen me come back more relaxed and smiling, so she is happy for me.. ( Not sure she knows what  I have spent on gear yet, ah who am I kidding she knows,, LOL. )

Last year I bought a Med otter 2 Sled, with two rods. So far this year I start out my season with 6 new  Rods and reels  ( and those are  just the ones I told my Wife about,, Ha ha),  a New Three man Ice tent , and I'm putting the final touches on my pimping of my SLED. Making a device to carry all my gear and rods. As my tent weighs 24 lbs , ( not about to haul  it on my back)

Any ways. Sorry to Blab. I'm looking forward to reading and learning more and meeting folks.
     Just wanted to  say HI..

Take care all... Enjoy life and all those around you, Stay warm , have fun  and enjoy those Tight Lines.

       AltaIce

Man, sounds like you have the gear!!

24lbs on my back......that would be nice N' Light.  My AUGER HEAD weighs that much alone.

I love being able to drive on.  No sled or ATv here.

Good luck!!

Thanks , Perachfinder and RyanlookingforPearch.. ...
Ya I'm really pumped.  Ya ,   Ryan my  new tent is 24lbs, and with all the extra stuff  I used to carry last year ( before I bought My pulling ice sled) it weighted   between 68 and 79 lbs.. LOL it depened on if I brought my propane stove and pots and pans... LOL..
I always Carried my stuff onto the ICE... I guess I still have a problem on the concept of driving over water...." L " . and the fact that we just bought a new vehicle.... My wife would not be impressed if I gave it a wash job the Hard way. "LOL"

On the way I'm going Ryan, I can prob see myself buying a Power ice Auger  next season.
So for now I'll be happy with my 6" hand auger..  Although I'm not with out the power one, as a friend does bring one when I go with them. So that is  very nice.
I have not Caught any perch since I was a Young kid.  Back then that was  all we did as kids was to go fishing in the summer for perch and so many.. ( brings back great thoughts.).. I hope to go ice fishing for some this year.

I'm hoping to have my new frame made up for my otter all glued and painted by next weekend or so.  ( seems like every time I look at it I'm adding something to it.."L". ;D

Thanks again... Take Care

             Regards.... AltaIce

Welcome.  I hope you have a great winter season :).  I had the pleasure to fish with Rumtan and Ryan looking for perch late last winter for some trout.  Great people. ;D

Best of luck in 2010.

Thank you very much " Fishhunter"
and yes I am looking forward to  this winter season and not  just for the chance to catch fish only,( which is a major plus... LOL ) but to just get out and enjoy and  conquer the cold weather and hopefully get the chance to meet new people and I guess just to get out of the house and get some fresh air and get away from the everyday hum-drum  and stress of everyday life .... (L)

Thanks once again Fishhunter77 , and I also wish you all the Best of Luck in the new year. Fish well and enjoy all those around you.

Regards and Take Care....... AltaIce

   Thanks " IceAnvil "

Yes Sir, am too looking forward to a new season the  HardWater. Yes I agree with you regarding  your fellow angler's on this site.
The info I have read and received has helped, your right the folks on here seem to be very Passionate about this site and what we all do for enjoyment on the Ice.
As soon as I finish Pimping my Sled  ( LOL).  I'm on the Ice.. Between only having one day off through the X-mas and spending that Day with my Wife. ( Which is a good thing )    I can see myself waking up very very Early and sneaking downstairs to try to glue some more Parts together...( L )

Sir, thanks again for the Welcome, I wish You, Your Family and Friends a very  Happy Holiday and a Even Better
Ice Fishing Season in the New Year...

Take care and Enjoy those Tight Lines.....

                                                               AltaIce      :)
