My New Rod Storage
« on: Dec 05, 2009, 06:39 PM »
I needed more room inside my bucket, so I made these rod holders. 1" plastic pipe straps, and some velcro. Cost....$3.00!! Nothing fancy but gets the job done. Smitty

Yep. How many of us are running to the hardware store tomorrow? I probably will. Never underestimate the ingenuity of a fisherman,

Just when I thought I was done making stuff for ice season, I think of something else...and of course I have to try to make it. I think this is it, as they have a great 10 day forcast here and I should be icefishing by next weekend if the weather man isn't lying again, that should keep me busy. Smitty

Good idea Smitty. When I head out with my empty bucket and come back with a  full bucket this will work out great. Thanks for the idea.

That's a great idea. I used pieces of 1" pvc pipe riveted from the back side. but that looks like it would be easier to attach.

I did similar with PVC. Used aluminum rivets to hold them on, that way the fasteners don't intrude into the bucket. Tried screws before and they cut me up!

Yes the bolts will probably get me too, they don't stick out too far, will have to see, if it's a problem, I will put some type of cap over the ends. Yours look great and will serve you well. Smitty

I also used PVC.  I put mine on the inside of a bucket so the rods and reels didn't get all banged up in my flip over and it keeps them from getting hung up on everything else in the area.
