vexilar fl8se fl8slt

What's the difference??? I bought a lightly used fl8slt for $125. I thought it was a steal. Works good. Is the dual, 9* or 12* any better than the 19*. I understand the cone angle principle but am I going to notice a difference??

i think its a good price. the colors arent as clear/crisp and theres more interference trouble with the SLT. the SE upgrade took care of those problems somewhat.

however, its not really a big deal.....i think you got a very good deal. ive seen SLT's in use.

the 19 is fine. especially if you fish mostly up to 30 or 40 feet of water or less.. i wouldnt blow money on another transducer until you try it for a season. (i have a 19 also)

overall id say you got a very good value for your money. have fun with your new flasher!

19* is for water under 20ft, 12* is for up to 40ft, and 9* works up to 100ft +. Vexilar recommends the 12* for all around use.

Difference between the SE and SLT is the LEDs. SE has brighter and crisper LEDs.

Maybe I'm not spoiled but I wouldn't ever pay to upgrade my SLT. It marks fish better than I need.
As for the degree, you will notice a difference between then. Don't get the 19 degree if you fish deep water. They will all work for shallow water but I would get the 19 if you do 20 feet and under. 9 degrees will only make a couple foot cone at that depth. I did the numbers for this awhile ago. I have a 12 and it works great, but I never fish more than 25 feet.
