No parking
« on: Nov 25, 2009, 03:55 AM »
How many of us go to these small out of the way lakes and can't find any place to park. Most times i have to dig out a parking spot just off the road. Ice fishing brings in a lot of revenue to these communities and there's no reason not to have a good size parking lot that is PLOWED.

I like it even better when the roads in aren't plowed...that limits the people who can get to the ice even more  ;D

Here imn Ct. it depends on the lake. A lot of towns will take care of the ramps even though they belong to the state. The DOT won't plow for the DEP. i allways argue it is a safty issue. How willthe police/fire/ambulance get there in an emegency? During the milenium I was in the Berkshires with an 18 inch nor easter and the 2 ramps in the area were clear all day and ready to fish the next day.

That's a problem here in NH also, with the snow banks, the snow is so close to the roadway that if park and your tire is on the paved portion of the road you get a ticket.

there is a hotspot on the BOQ, where they actually close off perfectly good parking areas, as the locals complained. stupid
