Sweet Find
« on: Nov 22, 2009, 04:47 PM »
I have been on the search for a lightweight tote with a hinged lid and carry handles. I went into the army store in Newington on the Berlin Turnpike and find this little gem.

Loaded and ready for a day on the hardwater

And also if you see this guy on the ice its me. Stop by and say HI

See you on the hard stuff

Looks like a lite weight (but thick)  plastic ammo can. We use the 2 standard size ammo cans for geocaching.
I wish I was in heaven sittin down..........on a 5 gallon pail!

How many Shanty members are geocachers also? I like to fish in the winter and cache in the summer.

I cache year round. Learned it in the winter.  Why wait for summer? No bugs when it's cold. Got 725 our first year. ;D

Here at Connecticut outfitters, we have an orange plano box, which is quite similar, plus waterproof. $21.99 retail

Standard military surplus ammo cans run $13-$15, 30mm-50mm,  and you can run them over with your truck! :o You can grab them off Ebay or online search for ammo cans will produce hundreds of outlets. ;D I keep a dozen or so here at the house. Hey! You never know......... ::)
Hey Blaine! Can we put a micro in front of your store? You'll get 50 geocachers right to your front door to sign a log book. Might as well check out the store while we are here! ::) ::) ::)
