Leader and Hook Color

Will having stainless steel leaders and blood red hooks affect my fishing instead of using standard black leaders and regular hooks? ???

How deep you fishing? Red is the first color of the spectrum to disappear at about 15'. So if fishing deeper then that, save the money and buy regular hooks.

As far as leader material goes...thought about fluoro?

I'm usually fishing in about 20 feet of water and i did still have strikes on the red but did not seem as much as regular hooks. However i have never tried flouro leaders becase of my fear of having a fish bite me off, i usualy stick to 12 inch stainless or black.

Different color hooks sometimes makes a difference.  It doesn't always have to be red.  It can be gold, nickle, blue, or even green.  It is that it contrasts against the wire leader, and that makes them better.
