I think you need a variety to cover different situations. I do own a SC legened (free with Cabelas points) but it is set up too light to fish for say deep water perch. I have a Genz Gold ML for that. I like the Panfish Popper too, but on really cold days the spring freezes up. Also for basic presentation I have a couple Schooley rigs. When fish are negative they can be just the ticket. Also deadly on trout for some reason. That's part of my arsenal anyway. I like to have at least five rods rigged ahead of time, allowing for quick changes on the ice.
I always have a Genz gold bluegill rod, JM panfish rod, a few TB rods and will be taking the Marmish rod I got in the mail today. I can't wait to use it.
i've been trying to get the old genz gold bluegill stick out of the rotation for a couple years now, but it just keeps finding it's way back...seems to have the perfuct action for pounding a gill pill!!!
